Worried-the character made sure everything was right on the diving board. The character said I made sure the diving board would hold my weight.

I think that the poet is feeling a little impatient and frustrated because1 I think that he wants to go on the diving board but the guy on it is checking if everything is right and won't go and 2 he won't DIVE!

The words that best describes the feeling of the poet are bored and impatient. The reason why I choose the word bored is because you been up there since half pass 5 so the reader can tell that the poet is really bored. The reason I also choose the word impatient is the sentence you been up there since half past five and you did everything expect for dive. Mostly because the last sentence the reader can tell that the poet is impatient.

This poem is has a frustrated feeling because why wont the guy just jump off the board? I would be annoyed if I had to wait to jump off the diving board.

Personally I think the overall reaction of the poet is impatiant because When he explained how the kid will not dive he wrote dive in all capitalised leters.

1-The poet creates the mood of nervousness and being scared because in the poem the guy on the diving board is doing tons of stuff to make sure that it is safe and he does not fall off because he is really scared or nervous.

I think the poet is bored and frustrated because maybe he or she wants to go on the diving board. I think the person on the board is scared because the poem says "You`ve been up there since half past five. Doin' everything but DIVE." So that tells me he is scared

I believe that, the poet is trying to show that the person that has been up on the diving board is, ( -- -what what I think) is scared to go into the water because, he is technekly stalling. I know this because, he has been up there not even doing what he is supposed to do, and doing stuff that, tis not even nessesarry. He is just making sure that the diving board can hold his weight, and stuff like that!

The mood that I think the poet created for the character was that he was nervous. I think the character is nervous because he's stalling and he's doing everything but jump off the diving board. I can tell that the character doesn't want to jump because he is nervous.

I think the poet is saying the character is very worried. I think that because in the text it said" You've made sure the spring is tight" it also said" You've made sure it is not too slick".

I predict he is frightened to jump off the diving board, because it states that he has been up there since half past five and has done everything BUT DIVE. Also, the text says exactly " You've made sure the cloth won't slip" this is why I think he is frightened to jump off the diving board.

The person is very nervous because he is taking time to make sure everything is right with the board. Also I know he is nervous because they said you are doing everything but dive. That is why I can tell the person is very nervous and is trying to prove he isn't.

The guy on the diving board is scared cause in the poem it says he has to check if the diving board can hold his weight and if his cloths wont slip. Also I know he's scared cause he has to check every bad thing that can happen.

I think the poet is inpatient because of the way he/she put DIVE in all capital. The poem was almost entirely about staling. And the poet says "you've ben up there half past 5 doing ever thing but .........DIVE!"

1. I think the word is scared because on the third line the word slick means that it is too slippery so he's scared.
