Quarter 1: Motion and Design
Newton's Laws of Motion
Learning Targets:
**I can explain the three laws of motion
**I can explain that an object at rest will remain at rest and an object in motion will remain in motion unless acted upon by an outside force (i.e. inertia)
**I can explain that it takes more force to move an object with a greater mass (i.e. moving a large piece of furniture requires more force than to move a small book; meaning acceleration)
**I can explain that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. (i.e. action and reaction)

Physical and Chemical Changes
**Learning Target: I can explain the difference between a physical change and a chemical change of matter.

Force and Motion
Learning Target: I can understand force and motion and the relationship between them.
Motion Graphs
Learning Targets:
**I can read, discuss, and interpret a motion graph.
**I know that Time = Distance / Speed (time= distance divided by speed)
**I also know that Speed = Distance/Time (speed=distance divided by time)
